Since starting classes at Whalton last year, I have felt improved self-esteem, the physical activity has reduced stress and anxiety and gives me a sense of achievement. To whom it may concern. I haven’t given much thought to mental health and exercise. Now that I have, I feel it does have an impact on my mental health. I feel sharper and brighter after Ronke’s exercise sessions as she changes the exercise routines each week and by doing so she makes us use our brains to work out what might come next. The classes are both physically and mentally demanding but in a good way. I am aware I always feel better having done a class and if I miss a class I soon feel sluggish so yes mentally I feel better for taking part in Ronke’s classes.

Hi Ronke Every Wednesday morning, regardless of how I feel beforehand, I come back from the Keep Fit class invigorated (once I have recovered!!) Every week is different – different music, different exercise patterns based around regular movements, always with a warm-up at the start and stretching at the end of the session. Because of the variety, you do have to concentrate and any problems you might have been thinking about go away at least for the hour! My balance has improved and my coordination too. Although the class continues throughout the hour with short breathing breaks there are also opportunities to meet new people before the class starts and afterwards. Even though I am lucky to be pretty active – walking, tennis, and gardening - I shall miss the classes when we stop in August and look forward to September!! Thanks, Ronke
