The Power Of A Click

A man’s life can change with just a click

A man’s life savings can be lost in the twinkling of an eye

An electrified, joyous moment can suddenly be overwhelmed with unending tears and sorrow with just a click

Relationships can break beyond repair

Companies built through years of hard labour can come crashing down within a split second

A tornado of unimaginable brokenness can envelope a man’s life with just a click, stealing away a man’s dignity, strength, honour, and the will to live.

Technology is an integral part of our lives and has gradually taken over tasks that we once performed physically. Now, you can sit in the comfort of your home and do your shopping for groceries, clothing, health, books, etc. Going to the shops now has become a chore for some people. It’s so convenient. With just a click, we achieve the following

  1. Have more time to do other things – Time to travel to the shop and back can be used for other productive activities
  2. Have the opportunity to check for other marketers without hopping from one shop to another
  3. Opportunity to manage stress
  4. Environmental protection – the fewer cars on the road, the less the pollution.
  5. Connect easily with others regardless of their location
  6. Opportunities for growth and self-development through online courses
  7. Opportunity for financial regulation

These and many more are the wonderful benefits of a click. However, the converse is also true.

Our clicks, whether on laptops, computers, iPads, Chromebooks, or phones, say a lot about who we are and what we stand for.

Our clicks reveal

  1. Our values about life, relationships, money, etc
  2. Our beliefs
  3. Our passions and goals
  4. Our life expectations
  5. Our Ambitions
  6. How we treat others

What we hold in our hands is not just a screen; it’s a tool that reflects who we are.

As good as technology is, some are dedicated to using it to destroy other people. The ugly vices that are on the increase now are just a reflection of our darkened state of the soul – a state we would do everything possible to run away from.

No one can make you hate another human being, the hatred has always been there. An enabling environment just helped you to manifest it.

With just a click, human souls have been reduced to toys. We toy with people’s lives and destiny through technology. We abuse, gossip, slander, and set traps, do audio and video recording to use against another, monitor people, and engage in all kinds of unimaginable wicked vices. With just a click, we revel in our ability to cancel out people through mob gaslighting. We boast in our power to draw crowds to follow our ideology, forgetting the long-term impact on the mental health of the people around us.

With just a click, we are gradually losing sight of the value of a soul. We are daily reducing men to a disposable commodity.

The use of technology in whatever form is not just a click; it is living out our values, influencing both young and old, and steering others towards or away from their life purpose. The following questions should be considered as we click daily

  1. What is this click about?
  2. What do I want to achieve through it?
  3. What impact will it have on others?
  4. Will I be able to do the same openly without the screen?
  5. Will I be proud to be identified with the result it produces?
  6. Will I consent to it being done to my family members?
  7. What legacy will I leave with this click?
  8. What impact will it have on my community?
  9. What is the click revealing about me?
  10. Is what I am engaging in revealing the real me, or am I gradually turning into another?

Our click is not ordinary; it is a message.

What is your message – to destroy or to build?
